BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Tennessee women’s golfer Kyra Van Kan earned her second career SEC Freshman of the Week Honor following a 10th-place finish at the Clemson Invitational.
Van Kan’s showing at Clemson marked back-to-back top-10 showings for her this season. Additionally, the Johannesburg, South Africa, native shot 7-under overall for the event with three under-par rounds.
Her best rounds came in round two and three when she recorded a pair of 69s. Throughout the tournament, the freshman played the par-4s at 5-under and registered 12 birdies along with an eagle.
Van Kan and the rest of the Tennessee women’s golf program will be back in action at home for their final tournament of the regular season, taking part in the Tennessee Spring Challenge, which takes place on April 7.
