CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fighting Illini women’s golf concludes regular season action at the Boilermaker Spring Classic, played at Ackerman-Allen Course in West Lafayette, Ind., and hosted by Purdue University. The two-day tournament will be played on Sunday, April 6 through Monday, April 7.
THE SETTING
The Boilermaker Spring Classic is held at Ackerman-Allen Course in West Lafayette, Ind. The course was originally built in 1934 by architect Bill Diddel and later renovated in 1968 by Larry Packard. Renowned architect Pete Dye designed the current course layout in 2016.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
There will be 16 teams competing in the 54-hole tournament. Both Sunday and Monday will feature 8:00 a.m. CT shotgun starts, with 36 holes of continuous play on Sunday and one round of play on Monday.
THE FIELD
Along with the Illini, the 16-team field for the Boilermaker Spring Classic will include Akron, Bradley, Butler, Cincinnati, Denver, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Princeton, Purdue, South Alabama, Tennessee Tech and Toledo.

ILLINI AT THE BOILERMAKER SPRING CLASSIC
This will be the seventh time that the Fighting Illini will be competing at the Boilermaker Spring Classic and the first since the 2003-04 season, where the team earned a ninth-place finish.
Illinois’ best finish as team in this event came in the 1994-95 season, when they placed second.

UP NEXT
The Illini will return to action on Friday, April 18, when they begin play at the Big Ten Championships at Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Md.
