University of Missouri women’s golf faces Georgia Southern in match play on Sunday.

MATCH INFO

The Tigers and Eagles are set for a five-golfer match play, starting at 9 a.m. CT at the Athens Country Club in Athens, Georgia.

MATCH PLAY

The Tigers are set to compete in match play for the first time in seven years, last competing in 2018 during the SEC Championship, falling 3-0-2, to top-seeded South Carolina.

TOP-25 WIN

The Tigers are coming off on of their strongest tournaments of the season, finishing fifth of 13 teams at the Florida State Match-Up on March 23. Among the teams Mizzou finished ahead of are No. 25 Houston and SEC foe and No. 46 Alabama. The win over No. 25 Houston marked the team’s first over a top-25 school since defeating No. 16 Miami at The Bruzzy in 2021.

BERGLUND NAMED SEC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Rookie Alexandra Berglund keyed the Tigers performance in Florida two weeks ago and was honored with SEC Freshman of the Week honors. Berglund, who recorded her first top-20 of her young collegiate career, is the first Tiger to earn a weekly honor this season and is the second in as many seasons to collect the conference’s Freshman of the Week accolades (Fleur van Beek earned the accolade in 2024).
