Wildcats in The Middle of The Pack After Day One of Augusta Haskins Award Invitational


A 36 hole day one at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational saw the Wildcats end in a tie for seventh. Four Wildcats shot par or better in round one then the second round saw a few more bogeys. Arizona at 3-over par is 14 shots behind the leaders Illinois. 

Zach Pollo shot 2-under par in 36 holes and tied for ninth place. Pollo went bogey free with two birdies in his first round. Johnny Walker is tied for 24th at 1-over par. He carded a 73 and 72 in his two rounds. 

Filip Jakubcik shot even par in round one then followed it up with a round of 74 to put him in a tie for 30th at the end of day one. Matej Baca had the second best round for the Wildcats in round one with a 71. A 76 in round two had him sitting in a tie for 35th to conclude the day. Tianyi Xiong shot even par in round one but couldn’t find a rhythm in his second round. 

The Wildcats had the fourth best par three and par five scoring averages in the entire field. Tee times begin at 5:00 am MST for the Arizona Wildcats.
