STANFORD, Calif. — No. 42 Stanford is back in action this week, making its debut at the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men’s Golf Championships, hosted at The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky. from April 24-28. Stanford begins stroke play from hole one alongside SMU and Notre Dame at 9:55 a.m. CT.
THE COURSE » Designed by architect Arthur Hills, The Club at Olde Stone is ranked as one of the best golf courses in Kentucky and features tee boxes that play upwards of 7,300 yards while containing 99 bunkers and five water hazards. Woven into the southern Kentucky landscape, The Club at Olde Stone has hosted numerous PGA junior events and has twice been the site for NCAA Regionals. Featuring 160 feet of elevation difference from its highest and lowest points, mixed with its challenging distances, The Club at Olde Stone is a premium location to display some of the nation’s top collegiate talent.
THE FIELD » Stanford heads into the Championships as part of one of the strongest fields in the nation, occupying the links alongside No. 9 Florida State, No. 10 North Carolina, No. 12 Virginia, No. 19 Duke, No. 24 Louisville, No. 26 Georgia Tech, No. 31 SMU, No. 38 Notre Dame, and No. 46 Wake Forest. Along with the No. 42 Cardinal, Clemson, California, NC State, Boston College and Virginia Tech will all be in contention.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT » The ACC Men’s Golf Championships consists of 54 holes of stroke play from April 24-26 with competition starting at 9 a.m. each day with three rounds of 18 holes played under the play five, keep four format. Match play begins with the quarterfinals on Sunday, April 27 at 7:30 a.m. with the top eight teams battling head-to-head with five pairings looking to secure three team points for the win. Semifinals match play also takes place following the quarterfinals. Finals match play begins on Monday at 10 a.m. All times are central.
THE CARDINAL LINEUP » Hitting the course for the Cardinal will be TK Chantananuwat, Logan Kim, Jay Leng, Ethan Gao and Nathan Wang. Kush Arora will serve as the substitute golfer for the Cardinal.
