Lu will compete as the top-seeded individual at the Gold Canyon Regional Site, which will be played at the Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club in Gold Canyon, Ariz. The three-round regional will be hosted by Arizona State from May 5-7.

Each NCAA Regional will feature 12 teams and six individuals.

The Gold Canyon Regional will feature Oregon, Arizona State, Auburn, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, California, Virginia Tech, San Jose State, Sacramento State, Cal State Fullerton, Navy, and Quinnipiac.

Gold Canyon Regional Site individual competitors:

1.    Vivian Lu, Washington

3.    Janae Leovao, Long Beach State

4.    Jensen Jalufka, Cal Poly

5.    Daniela Campillo, ULM

6.    Maddie Montoya, Montana State

This is Lu’s second year qualifying for NCAA Regionals, as the sophomore competed last season as an individual at the Cle Elum Regional. As a freshman, Lu tied for 22nd with teammate Camille Boyd (+8).

“Viv is an exceptional talent, and on top of that, she’s one of the hardest working players I have ever had,” Head Coach Mulflur said. “She’s earned this. We are all very excited for her.”

The top five teams and the low individual not on one of the advancing teams from each regional site will go on to compete at the national championships, which will take place May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
