Women's Golf Makes Noise in the Big 12 Honors

Arizona Women’s Golf makes their mark in the Big 12 Season Awards. First year head coach Giovana Maymon took home Big 12 Coach of the Year. The duo of Charlotte Back and Carolina Melgrati that has been successful all season picked up All-Big 12 Honors.

The Wildcats had an outstanding first season in the Big 12. They had three wins which include the Folds of Honor, St. Andrews Links Collegiate and the Big 12 Championship. In addition, they had four top fives finishes and seven if you include the three wins just stated above.

This makes four all conference selections in four years for Carolina Melgrati. She was on all conference teams her freshman and junior year and received an all conference honorable mention her sophomore season. She had four top five finishes this season. This is the first all conference selection for the sophomore Charlotte Back. Back also had four top five finishes which included a win in the stroke play event of the St. Andrews Links Collegiate.

Arizona is set for NCAA postseason play and ready to compete in the Lubbock NCAA Regional on May 5-7.
