Women's Golf Looks to Defend NGI Championship Title


MARICOPA, Ariz. – Rutgers women’s golf is looks to defend its title at the National Golf Invitational Championship at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club this weekend. 

Last season in their first ever postseason invitational, the Scarlet Knights were victorious in the event, winning by three strokes over second-place UNCW. 

Rutgers ended the ended the regular season on a high note, earning the program’s best-ever finish at Big Ten Championships, finishing in 10th place out of 18 teams in a stacked field at Bulle Rock Golf Course. 

This spring, RU also successfully defended its team title at the Rutgers Invitational, with Emily James winning the individual title for her first career victory.
