BREMERTON, Wash. (May 12, 2025) – Washington State junior Sam Renner shot a 2-over, 74, in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Regional Championship Monday at the par-72, 7,167-yard Olympic Course at Gold Mountain Golf Club.
Renner, playing in his first NCAA Championship event, began his day with three-straight pars before a bogey on the par-4 fourth. Two holes later, Renner eagled the par-5 sixth hole, taking him to under par for the only time on the day. Another bogey on the seventh followed by two pars had him even-par at the turn.
On the back side, he bogeyed the par-3, 12th before a birdie on the par-5, 14th put him back to even-par through 14 holes. Renner then doubled the par-4, 15th before closing out his round with three-straight pars for a 2-over, 74. Renner’s score has him tied for 32nd overall following the first of three rounds.
Renner excelled on the four par-5 holes, going a collective 3-under par, tied for fifth-best among the 74 golfers Monday.
The second of three rounds at the 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Bremerton Regional begins Tuesday, with Renner set to tee off Hole 1 at 10:12 a.m.
