SEATTLE – University of Washington Director of Athletics Pat Chun has named Anna Temple the next head coach of the UW Women’s Golf Program. Temple has served as Associate Head Coach for the Huskies for the past three years, and succeeds Mary Lou Mulflur, who retired at the conclusion of the 2025 season after a Hall of Fame 42 years at Washington.
Temple becomes the fifth women’s golf head coach in UW history.
“We are excited to name Anna Temple as our next Women’s Golf Head Coach,” said Chun. “Having served as Associate Head Coach for UW and with over a decade of Division I head coaching experience, Coach Temple is the exact fit to build on the history and tradition of UW Golf that Mary Lou Mulflur has established. Coach Temple has earned this opportunity to lead us into this next chapter of Washington Women’s Golf.”
This past season alongside Mulflur, Temple helped Vivian Lu make the All-Big Ten First Team and earn an individual NCAA Regional appearance. The sophomore entered the Gold Canyon Regional as the top-seeded individual and finished 20th out of the 77-player field.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to have been chosen to lead the University of Washington women’s golf program,” Temple said. “I fell in love with this university and in particular this department because of the intentional culture that has been built here, the quality of the people, and the pursuit of excellence for our student-athletes both on and off the course. It has been a privilege to work alongside ML for the last three seasons, and I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for her and the players she has impacted in her career, one of whom being the late Nancy McDaniel.”
In 2023-24, the Huskies finished seventh at the NCAA Cle Elum Regional. Senior Camille Boyd earned All-Pac-12 First Team honors in 2024.
In her first season at UW in 2022-23, Temple helped coach Boyd to a tie for fourth place in the 2023 NCAA Regional. Boyd notched the second lowest 54-hole score in program history and came just one stroke shy of advancing to the NCAA Championships after carding a 13-under total of 203 at the NCAA Pullman Regional.
In her three seasons at UW, Temple helped an individual or team advance to Regionals all three years. She has coached an All-Big Ten First Teamer, an All-Pac-12 First Teamer, seven All-American scholars earning 10 awards,…
