The Vols shot 8-over in round two and sit tied for 24th at 24-over ahead of round three.
Following Sunday’s third round of stroke play, the field will be cut in half to 15 teams.
After a 75 to start the tournament, Lance Simpson bounced back in round two to card an even-par 72. The PING All-Southeast Region honoree went even on both sides of the course, including a bogey-free back nine. He currently sits in 55th ahead of the third round of stroke play.
Josh Hill gave UT its second-best 18-hole score on Saturday, carding a 1-over 73 where he also went even-par on the back nine. Hill is tied for 97th at 7-over.
Freshman Christian Pardue provided another counting score for Tennessee on day two, shooting a 2-over 74. The Arlington, Tennessee, native is tied for 89th at 6-over going into round three.
Bruce Murphy shot the Vols’ final counting round Saturday after carding a 77. The redshirt sophomore sits at 8-over and tied for 104th through 36 holes of play.
Freshman Jackson Herrington is tied for 151st ahead of the third round of stroke play.
