NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt women’s golf sophomore Ava Merrill was named an All-American by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association on Tuesday.
Merrill was selected to the Honorable Mention Team becoming the 15th Commodore to earn All-America recognition from the WGCA. She is the first All-America honoree since Celina Sattelkau in 2023.
Last week, Merrill finished tied for 14th at the NCAA National Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. The finish marked the best individual performance by a Dore since Marina Alex also tied for 14th in 2012.
In 31 rounds this season, Merrill averaged 72.09 strokes to lead the Commodores. She produced 17 rounds at or below par with six top 20 finishes individually.
Fifty student-athletes were selected for the prestigious All-America teams.
