Three ACC Standouts Selected to Division I PING All-American First Team

CARLSBAD, Calif. (theACC.com) – Florida State’s Luke Clanton, North Carolina’s David Ford and Virginia’s Ben James were named to the 10-member Division I PING All-America First Team, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Wednesday, May 28.

Winner of the 2025 Ben Hogan Award, Clanton became the program’s first two-time NCAA Regional champion after claiming the Tallahassee Regional at 15-under, 201, setting a course record for a three-round low at Seminole Legacy. On the season, the Hialeah, Florida, native closed his 2024-25 campaign with a 69.5 scoring average and four individual titles.

Ford, who earned the 2025 Haskins Award earlier this week, led the nation with five individual titles during the season, setting a program record for most wins in a single year. The Peachtree Corners, Georgia, native also led the country in scoring average at 68.8 and became the first Tar Heel ever to win three consecutive tournaments.

James was a key contributor to Virginia’s first-ever ACC Championship title and its run to the match-play final of the 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship. The Milford, Connecticut, native finished the year with a 68.4 scoring average and highlighted the campaign with an individual title at the Valero Texas Collegiate in September. James tallied four top-three finishes and three match-play wins at the NCAA Championships.
