In the fourth episode of the PGA TOUR’s Pathway to Progression player development series, we take you inside the two-day performance experience held in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. The winners of The Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational, Howard University Women’s golf team and FAMU Men’s golf team had the opportunity to receive personalized training and coaching from PGA professionals at TPC Sawgrass. In addition to training and coaching at TPC Sawgrass facilities, the students were able to tour the PGA TOUR headquarters and studios where they networked with PGA TOUR staff.
Pathway to Progression provides the necessary access, resources and opportunities to diverse players, allowing future generations of PGA TOUR players to succeed. Through the Pathway to Progression program, we aim to motivate and inspire the next generation of golfers from diverse and underrepresented communities.
In alignment with our APGA Tour partnership and the Bridgestone Collegiate Development Program, Pathway to Progression will provide a path for talented junior and collegiate golfers from diverse backgrounds to continue their development and chase their dream of becoming professional golfers. The PGA TOUR is excited to provide these enhanced competitive and training opportunities in development in order to achieve greater diversity in golf through increased focus on developing talent from diverse and historically underrepresented groups.
