COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior Louise Rydqvist, freshman Eila Galitsky and senior Hannah Darling all earned Golfweek All-America honors on Wednesday. Rydqvist and Galitksy earned spots on the Second Team while Darling was a Third Team selection.
The trio also earned WGCA All-America honors recently as well. It marks the 10th consecutive season South Carolina has had multiple players earn All-America status. In 18 seasons under head coach Kalen Anderson, the Gamecocks have garnered 54 All-America honors by 16 different players.
The three All-American players this season ties the single-season program record set in 2017, 2020 and 2023.
Galitsky joins Ana Pelaez (2017), Emily Price (2019), Pauline Roussin-Bouchard (2020) and Darling (2022) as the only freshmen in program history to earn All-America honors. The SEC Co-Freshman of the Year, who enrolled mid-year, put together an outstanding spring with four top-five finishes in six stroke play starts including a win at the Moon Golf Invitational back in mid-February. Her 71.26 scoring average is the lowest in program history by any first-year player. Galitsky finished T-5th at the NCAA Championship on May 19 with a 72-hole total of 282 (-6). She became the second player in program history and the first freshman to earn a top-five finish at the NCAA Championship. Former All-American Katie Burnett finished 5th at the 2012 NCAA Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Club.
Darling and Rydqvist finish their Gamecock careers as two of the most decorated players in program history. They are the first South Carolina players to be four-time All-Americans. Over the course of the last four seasons, they’ve helped the team ascend to new heights with 13 wins including the program’s second SEC Championship and sixth NCAA Regional Title this season. The team has finished with a top-six national ranking in each of their four seasons in Garnet and Black with a No. 5 final ranking this season via Clippd.
Darling logged nine top-20 finishes this season including six top-10s, four top-fives and her second career win at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate back in September. She finishes her Gamecock career with the lowest career scoring average in program history at 72.09.
