Breanna Jenco Named Next Women’s Golf Head Coach – Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Official Athletics Website

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A new voice is ready to lead the Fighting Irish women’s golf program into a new era. On Wednesday afternoon, Notre Dame Director of Golf John Handrigan announced the addition of Breanna Jenco as the next head women’s golf coach.

A six-time Big East Coach of the Year, Jenco arrives in South Bend after arguably the greatest and most successful stretch in Xavier women’s golf history.

“I am humbled and honored to be named the next head women’s golf coach of Notre Dame,” Jenco explained. “I want to thank Pete Bevacqua, Nick Siergiej and John Handrigan for this amazing opportunity. I am looking forward to representing such a prestigious university. Through the interview process it became clear that Notre Dame operates under values that I cherish in my own life. They prioritize both academics and sports while providing the resources necessary to be competitive and successful with both.

“The high academic degrees, elite network of alumni, first-class facilities and competitive resources will allow us to attract the best players. I am grateful to Xavier and everyone there for allowing me to learn and grow as a coach. I am excited to work hard to continue to build the Fighting Irish into a program that competes for ACC and NCAA titles! Go Irish!”

Jenco graduated from Xavier in 2013 after a successful four-year playing career.  She was a four-time National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar (2010-13) and earned the Thomas E. Sedler Award, which goes to a Xavier senior student-athlete who best demonstrated hard work and enthusiasm during their career at Xavier. Soon after, she received her master’s degree from Akron in 2015, where she also served as a graduate assistant with the Zips women’s golf program.

Jenco then jumped right into her first head coaching position, linking back up with her alma mater, Xavier, in 2015. After building a successful culture and foundation, Jenco turned Xavier into the face of Big East women’s golf and a constant NCAA Regional contender.

Case in point, Jenco led the Musketeers to six straight Big East championships, with the 2019 title being the first in program history. After claiming their most recent championship in 2025, Jenco solidified her historic run, becoming the first program in Big East history to claim at least six conference titles.

Thus, the Musketeers have also qualified for six consecutive NCAA Regional appearances, with their 2019…
