Breanna Jenco was named Women’s Golf Head Coach in June 2025 by Director of Golf John Handrigan.
A six-time Big East Coach of the Year, Jenco arrived in South Bend after arguably the greatest and most successful stretch in Xavier women’s golf history.
Jenco graduated from Xavier in 2013 after a successful four-year playing career. She was a four-time National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar (2010-13) and earned the Thomas E. Sedler Award, which goes to a Xavier senior student-athlete who best demonstrated hard work and enthusiasm during their career at Xavier. Soon after, she received her master’s degree from Akron in 2015, where she also served as a graduate assistant with the Zips women’s golf program.
Jenco then jumped right into her first head coaching position, linking back up with her alma mater, Xavier, in 2015. After building a successful culture and foundation, Jenco turned Xavier into the face of Big East women’s golf and a constant NCAA Regional contender.
Jenco led the Musketeers to six straight Big East championships, with the 2019 title being the first in program history. After claiming their most recent championship in 2025, Jenco solidified her historic run, becoming the first program in Big East history to claim at least six conference titles.
The Musketeers also qualified for six consecutive NCAA Regional appearances, with their 2019 NCAA appearance being the first in program history as well.
In recognition of her sustained success, Jenco has been named Big East Coach of the Year an incredible six times (2016, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2025).
With sustained team success comes great individual development as well. Overall, she has mentored 14 All-Big East selections who have won a combined 26 All-Big East awards. Two of whom, Kara Carter and Mikayla Fitzpatrick, achieved the honor all four years. Speaking of Fitzpatrick, she became the program’s first NCAA National Championship participant in 2019.
Two student-athletes earned Big East Golfer of the Year honors, with three golfers collecting the Big East Freshman of the Year award.
Jenco not only got results on the links but in the classroom as well. The Musketeers had numerous WGCA All-American Scholars, most recently having five golfers earn the honors in 2024, during her tenure at Xavier.
