Four Tigers Named All-America Scholars


Four members of University of Missouri men’s golf program were honored for their work off the course on Tuesday as Dagbjartur Sigurbrandsson, Brock Snyder, Mattias Varjun and Veikka Viskari all earned Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars accolades.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be at least a sophomore, participate in 50% of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.

All four Tigers earned the accolade for the first time in their career.

In his final season with the Tigers, Sigurbrandsson posted a 74.86 stroke average in 21 rounds, finishing as high as eighth overall at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational.

Snyder tallied a 74.06 stroke average in his first full season in the lineup, recording four top-20 finishes.

Varjun recorded a 73.60 stroke average during his graduate campaign. Highlighting his season was winning his first career title at the Tiger Intercollegiate by four strokes and earning SEC Golfer of the Week honors.

Finally, Viskari posted a 73.58 stroke average as a sophomore with three top-20 finishes in his first season in the Black & Gold.
