NORMAN, Okla. – Penn State men’s golf student-athletes Andres Barraza, Alex Creamean and Morgan Lofland have been named Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholars, as announced by the GCAA Tuesday.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate’s degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
Barraza picks up All-America Scholar accolades for the second-straight season after earning the honor following his sophomore season at Bucknell a year ago. He owned a 74.36 stroke average through 25 rounds during his first season as a Nittany Lion in 2024-25.
Creamean earns his first All-America Scholar honor following his debut season in the Blue & White. He finished his sophomore season ranking second on the team with a 73.12 stroke average while collecting a team-best three top-10 finishes.
Lofland earns GCAA All-America Scholar accolades for the second time in his career. He finished the 2024-25 season with a 75.78 stroke average through 23 rounds, highlighted by placing as Penn State’s top finisher in both the Florida Gators Invitational and Canadian Collegiate Invitational.
