NORMAN, Okla. – The Vanderbilt men’s golf team received a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award recognition from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday, as the Commodores earned an All-Academic Team honor for the 2024-25 season.
To be selected for the GCAA All-Academic Team, programs must hold a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. A GCAA-record 292 schools across six collegiate divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award this season.
It is the latest academic honor for the Commodores this summer. Back in July, Vanderbilt had five student-athletes selected as Colbalt Golf All-America Scholars by the GCAA. In June, seniors Gordon Sargent and Jackson Van Paris, along with junior Wells Williams, were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
The Commodores welcome back six golfers from last season’s squad that finished tied for 13th at the 2025 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship. All-American Wells Williams headlines the group of returnees, as Vanderbilt also welcomes in the nation’s top freshman class and transfer Carlos Astiazaran, who was named the 2024-25 West Coast Conference Co-Player of the Year as a sophomore at Pacific.
Vanderbilt opens the 2025-26 men’s golf season in Pebble Beach, California, on Aug. 29-31 for the Carmel Cup. Fans can click here to view the entire 2025-26 Commodore men’s golf schedule.
