Cal Men's Golf Announces 2025-26 Schedule

Benchmark Tournaments, Elite Competition On Docket For Golden Bears

BERKELEY – Distinguished events and a full slate of elite competition mark the 2025-26 California men’s golf schedule that was announced Wednesday.

The Golden Bears, fresh off a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships, open the season Sept. 8-10 at the Folds of Honor Collegiate – an event that raises awareness and funds for the nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen or disabled military and first responders. The field of 15 features eight teams that made an NCAA regional last season and will be televised by the Golf Channel.

In October, the Bears will join Cal’s women’s golf team to participate in the St Andrews Links Collegiate in Scotland. In the third edition of the unique tournament, the Bears will be joined by Michigan State, Princeton and the University of St Andrews for a three-day event that will also air on the Golf Channel. Stroke play will take place on Oct. 13-14 on the Jubilee Course with the final day of match play on the Old Course.

Cal will also join forces again with the women’s golf team to play the annual Big Match against Stanford on Sept. 25 in Menlo Park.

In March, the Bears will host the inaugural Desimone Invitational, a 15-team event named after Cal’s legendary former coach, Steve Desimone. The event that will include six teams that qualified for last season’s NCAA Championships honors Desimone, who coached the Bears for 37 years and turned the program into a sustained power and became a pillar of intercollegiate golf.

Also in the spring, Cal will travel to the Cabo Challenge in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The 2026 field is loaded with five teams that advanced to the NCAA Championships, including defending national champion Oklahoma State. Seven teams that finished in the top 25 of last season’s SCOREBOARD rankings are scheduled to compete in the event.

The 2026 ACC Championship is scheduled for April 23-27 at Sharks Tooth Golf Club in Panama City Beach, Florida. Twelve conference teams made an NCAA regional last season.
