Record 7,945 Student-Athletes Named to ACC Academic Honor Roll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the 2024-25 ACC Academic Honor Roll on Friday, recognizing a league record 7,945 student-athletes for classroom excellence during the most recent academic year.

The ACC Academic Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. This marks the sixth consecutive year in which at least 5,500 ACC student-athletes have achieved Honor Roll status.

“We applaud our incredible student-athletes for their hard work, diligence and success in the classroom and competition this past academic year,” said ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D. “We offer our congratulations to the thousands who earned ACC Academic Honor Roll distinction this year and also recognize the many individuals who tirelessly work to support them on all of our campuses.”

In its first year of ACC competition, Stanford led all schools with 790 honorees. Duke, which has led all schools for 36 out of 38 years of the Honor Roll, had 668 Honor Roll student-athletes, while California placed 602. Virginia (567), North Carolina (557), Boston College (520), Notre Dame (471), Louisville (447) and Clemson (406) each had more than 400 student-athletes earn recognition.

Nineteen student-athletes earned a spot on the ACC Honor Roll for the sixth time:

Ethan Weatherspoon, Virginia, Wrestling

Lindsey Butler, Virginia Tech, Cross Country/Track & Field

Nick Gallo, Virginia Tech, Football

Michaela Hegarty, Virginia Tech, Women’s Tennis

Sam Latona, Virginia Tech, Wrestling

Molly Re, Virginia Tech, Women’s Lacrosse

Devonte Gordon, Wake Forest, Football
