OLUMBUS, Ga. — As the 2025-26 season approaches, Stanford women’s golf is poised to pick up where it left off. The ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel 2025-2026 Preseason Watch List was announced on Monday morning, and four Stanford golfers earned preseason recognition.
Two of the ANNIKA Award finalists from last year, Meja Örtengren and Andrea Revuelta, are on the preseason watch list, while Megha Ganne and Paula Martín Sampedro join the sophomores as early contenders for the award.
Örtengren, the reigning ACC and WGCA Freshman of the Year, compiled nine top 10 finishes in nine tournaments while going 4-2 in match play. Her scoring average of 70.11 was the fourth-best in program history by any golfer, scoring at par or better in 24 of 28 rounds while shooting in the 60s on ten occasions. She tied the Stanford single-round record with a 10-under 62 during the San Diego State Classic on the way to her first collegiate win.
Revuelta caught fire late in her freshman season after missing portions of the fall and winter due to injury. In her return to the lineup, Revuelta became an ACC champion by tying the ACC championship scoring record of 14-under. She followed that up by winning the NCAA Norman Regional, becoming the first Cardinal since Rose Zhang to win consecutive postseason tournaments. A strong summer abroad helped her climb to No. 3 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Ganne broke into the top five in the World Amateur Golf Rankings thanks to a terrific finish to her summer, winning the 125th U.S. Women’s Amateur. It comes after another stellar season on The Farm that saw her win her second career tournament and become the program’s all-time leader in scoring average (71.29). Ganne finished tied for tenth in stroke play at the NCAA Championship in 2025, her second top ten finish in Carlsbad.
Perhaps no Stanford golfer had a better summer than Martín Sampedro. She won the 122nd Women’s Amateur, the European Ladies’ Amateur, and took home the Smyth Salver after a top 10 finish at the AIG Women’s Open. As a sophomore, Martín Sampedro won her first two collegiate tournaments and has finished in the top five in stroke play at the NCAA Championship twice. She actively sits No. 2 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, aiming to become the first Spaniard to reach the top spot.
