Vanderbilt Women's Golf | Strong Finish at Pebble Beach

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Vanderbilt women’s golf finished in second place at the 2025 Carmel Cup thanks to a 2-under-par final round. The runner-up Commodores had a tournament total score of 13-over throughout the weekend’s 54 holes. Texas A&M took home the title at 13-under.

“I am really proud of the fight we showed today and feel like everyone played with purpose,” said head coach Greg Allen. “I’m also proud of the way we finished the last few holes.  We didn’t get off to a great start but showed a lot of patience and maturity hanging in there.”

Lynn Lim notched a bogey-free round into her scorecard on Sunday, holing three birdies on her way to a 3-under 69 score and a 12th-place individual performance. Senior Tillie Claggett wrapped up the season-opening event with an even par round on Sunday. The Texas native sunk her 14th and final birdie of the weekend on the famous 18th hole at Pebble Beach, solidifying a sixth-place individual performance at 2-under and tournament-leading birdie total. Kathryn Ha completed her first tournament as a Commodore in 11th place individually with an even-par round herself.

“We got big rounds from Lynn and Elizabeth, and Tillie had a solid tournament,” said Allen. “Kathryn made a big par putt on 17 and Ava two putted 18 for birdie. At the time, those putts helped us get past Oklahoma State.”

Elizabeth Rudisill scored her best round of the weekend, a 2-under-par 70 to conclude her first tournament as a Commodore. Rudisill and Ava Merrill tied for 27th individually with the latter finishing 3-over par on Sunday’s final 18 holes. Sara Im shot a 76.

Vanderbilt’s runner-up performance is its second-best finish at the Carmel Cup, one spot behind 2024’s title. The Dores led the tournament in birdies, holing 59 throughout the three-day event.

“I’m really excited about this team and the depth we have,” said Allen. “That’s going to keep everyone on their toes and should help us get better.”

Vanderbilt returns to the course in three weeks to host the annual Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Club September 19-21.
