LAKE ELMO, Minn. – Sophomore All-American Eila Galitsky took home her second career victory on Wednesday at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate. She was co-medalist of the event with Wake Forest’s Chloe Kovelesky at 9-under par.
Galitsky used another strong finish to her round today making birdie on hole 17 and eagle on hole 18 to finish as the clubhouse leader. Kovelesky made birdie on 17 to tie her and par on 18.
Galitsky posted scores of 67-70-70 this week for a 54-hole total of 207. She made three eagles and was the only player in the field with multiple eagles on her scorecard this week. The Chiang Mai, Thailand native also led the team with 13 birdies at Royal Golf Club. She became the third-straight Gamecock to win the individual title at the prestigious early season event joining All-Americans Louise Rydqvist (2023) and Hannah Darling (2024) as ANNIKA Intercollegiate champions.
As a team, the No. 12 Gamecocks finished sixth in a strong 12-team field that featured eight teams ranked inside the top-15 of the Preseason WGCA Coaches Poll. Carolina shot 872 (+8) with scores of 291-293-288.
Junior Vairana Heck had a T-19th finish at 2-over for the tournament. She closed strong today with a 1-under 71, making birdie on her final two holes. It’s the ninth career top-20 finish for Heck in 19 events played.
Fellow junior Maylis Lamoure shot 73 (+1) in the final round, making birdie on three of her last four holes. She finished T-41st with scores of 76-77-73. A pair of Gamecocks made their debuts this week in freshman Laura Nepper and Alicia Olsson. Nepper finished T-34th with scores of 74-73-76. Olsson finished T-48th with scores of 77-77-74.
Carolina will remain on the road as the team heads to Chicago to compete in the Jackson T. Stephens Cup (Sept. 15-17) next week. Golf Channel will provide live coverage each day with stroke play on Monday and Tuesday followed my match play for the top four teams.
