- Volleyball:
- Field Hockey:
- The Demon Deacons continued non-conference play this past weekend, earning a pair of victories over VCU (2-1) and UMass Lowell (9-0).
- In Sunday’s win, head Coach Jen Averill picked up her 450th career win to add to a lengthy list of accomplishments as the leader of the Demon Deacons.
- The Deacs saw eight different players contribute to the scoring sheet, highlighted by a hat trick from forward Lauren Storey, while Mia Montag and Mia Schoenbeck each scored twice.
- The team begins ACC play this week, first traveling to New York on Friday to play Syracuse before a Sunday afternoon tilt with Boston College.
- Women’s Soccer:
- The No. 18 ranked Demon Deacons went 2-0-0 this past week, highlighted by a 3-1 victory over Miami in the team’s ACC opener on Wednesday.
- On Sunday, the Deacs battled with USC Upstate before pulling away with a 6-2 victory over the Spartans in the non–conference finale. Graduate Sophie Faircloth scored a pair of goals late in the first half, marking her first multi-goal game since Oct. 29, 2020.
- The Deacs continue ACC play this week, first with a Thursday night showdown against Virginia Tech at Spry before heading north to face Boston College in Massachusetts on Sunday.
- Cross Country:
- In their first meet of the 2025 season, the Wake Forest women’s cross country team placed first overall at the Queen City Invite on Friday evening, highlighted by junior Angelina Perez claiming the individual title.
- The Ringwood, N.J., native crossed the finish line in 16:19.7 to earn the first individual victory of her collegiate career, having previously placed as high as second at the Firetower Project CC meet last season.
- Along with Perez, three other Demon Deacons placed inside the top-10, including two in the top five. Graduate student Maisie Wilmer finished just behind Perez in second place, clocking a time of 16:47.2.
- Women’s Golf:
- Following back-to-back team scores under par, the Wake Forest women’s golf secured its first team title of the 2025-26 season at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate at Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minn., last week….
