CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson golfer Oscar Bredkjaer finished in a tie for 11th place out of 108 golfers at the World Amateur Team Championships at Tanah Merah Golf club in Singapore on Monday.
Bredkjaer had rounds of 71-67-72-72 for a six-under-par 282 total for the four-day 72-hole tournament. Bredkjaer was the top player for the Denmark team that finished tied for seventh in the 36-team field.
Bredkjaer is in his first year at Clemson after transferring from the University of San Francisco and he has the top stroke average on the Clemson team this year at 70.89. He has three top 20 finishes for the Tigers so far this year, including a seventh place at the Bryan Brothers Collegiate in Columbia, SC.
This week, Bredkjaer had 14 birdies, eight bogeys and no double bogeys, as he was one of nine players in the field to score at par-or-better in all four rounds. He was the top golfer for Denmark in the first round when he scored a 71, and in the second round when he had a bogey-free five-under-par 67, the best round of the tournament among the Denmark golfers.
Bredkjaer will be back in the Clemson lineup October 24-26 when Clemson competes n the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in Alpharetta, Ga.
