PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women’s golf redshirt senior Grace Lu was named Women’s Player of the Year by New Jersey Golf. The Edison, New Jersey, native was recognized during the NJPGA/NJ Golf Celebration of Golf on Oct. 30 at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, N.J.
“It’s really cool to represent New Jersey on the collegiate level,” Lu said. “It’s always special to travel with my teammates while representing where I’m from. To join the list of past Women’s Players of the Year, many of whom were my role models, is really rewarding.”
On the amateur circuit, Lu reached the quarterfinals of the 100th New Jersey Women’s Amateur Championship at Hackensack Golf Club, placed fourth in the 3rd New Jersey Women’s Open at The Bedens Brook Club, and tied for third as the low amateur in the WMGA/Metropolitan PGA Women’s Open.
Lu was named a Big Ten Golfer to Watch ahead of the 2025-26 season. This fall, Lu appeared in 11 rounds across the Scarlet Knights’ four tournaments during the fall campaign. Lu produced back-to-back top-10 finishes to close out the fall season, including a sixth-place result at the Route 66 Invitational honoring Dale McNamara on Oct. 13 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
In two seasons at Rutgers, Lu has appeared in 49 rounds across 17 tournaments, carding nine top-20 results and five top-10 finishes during her RU career. Lu was named a 2025 WGCA All-America Scholar this past summer.
Rutgers closed its fall season with back-to-back top-five team finishes, including a fifth-place result at the Route 66 Invitational. The Scarlet Knights also worked a runner-up finish at the Princeton Open on Oct. 4 at Springdale Golf Club.
