Troon Golf, the resort and daily-fee division of Troon, will now handle the management of Saltleaf Golf Preserve in Bonita Springs, Florida. The 27-hole property was formerly in Troon’s ICON Management division. Troon Golf will handle golf operations, agronomy, food and beverage, retail, and sales and marketing for Saltleaf.
The facility recently completed a lengthy 17-month renovation and reopened in November 2023.
Raymond Floyd, a four-time major champion, worked with property owner London Bay Development Group and architect Harry Bowers to complete the project. The site of the former Raptor Bay course was reworked into a completely new course named The Preserve. This new course is longer and more challenging, with a par-72 layout sitting at 7,075 yards. It features 22 acres of lakes and no formal bunkers.
Saltleaf also features a nine-hole par-3 course called The Leaf, a 40,000-square-foot practice facility and a 12,500-square-foot clubhouse that houses the Saltleaf Bar & Grill and a golf shop.
The property’s facelift is an essential part of the London Bay Development Group’s redevelopment of area. The team is also building twin 22-story condominium buildings as well as The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Estero Bay and Saltleaf Marina, which are set to open in 2025 and 2026, respectively.
“I am thrilled to welcome Saltleaf to our Troon Golf brand,” said Joe Langford, senior vice president of operations at Troon. “Saltleaf is a remarkable golf course set amongst the state’s first aquatic reserve. We are excited to partner with London Bay and look forward to further elevating this already outstanding property.”
