Eight former Gators competed across three tours this weekend.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Eight former Gators competed across three tours this weekend.

PGA Tour Golfers

Billy Horschel was the lone Gator in the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament. Horschel went 2 over to finish T-15 with 12 total birdies and 48 pars. The 2022 Memorial winner finished seventh in SG: Putting (4.719) and made 99 feet of putts, good for second best. 

 

Horschel has amassed 911 FedEx Cup Points this season and is ranked No. 38. 

Korn Ferry Golfers

Four former Gators, Yuxin Lin (T-36), Fred Biondi (Cut), Ricky Castillo (Cut) and T.J. Vogel (Cut) competed in the BMW Charity Pro-Am.

Lin went 11 under to finish T-36 in his third Korn Ferry event of the season. The first year pro shot four rounds of par or better with his best coming on Thursday by way of a seven birdie 66. 

Tour Champions Golfers

Three Gators, Chris DiMarco (T-10), Brian Gay (T-22) and Scott Dunalp (T-57) took part int eh American Family Insurance Championship this weekend.

DiMarco finished the best of the bunch notching his second top-10 of the season with a 6 under finish. DiMarco’s 1.71 Putts Per GIR ranked sixth best among the field. 

What’s Next

The PGA Tour travels to Pinehurst for the U.S. Open where Billy Horschel and Gator Sophmore Parker Bell will both look to win their first career major championship. 

 

The Korn Ferry Tour will be in Kansas for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open. Former Gator Ricky Castillo is the previous champion at the Wichita Open surviving a three man playoff to notch the first win of his professional career. 

The PGA Tour Champions will return June, 21 for the DICK’s Open.
