Davis Ties for Eighth at Cougar Classic as Tennessee Women’s Golf Ties for Ninth

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Tennessee Women’s golfer Bailey Davis notched a top-10 finish at the Cougar Classic as the Lady Vols tied for ninth.

Davis, shot par or lower in each round, including a pair of 1-under 70s in rounds one and three. The White Plains, Maryland, native now how six career top-10 showings after her tied for eighth finish.

As a team, Tennessee shot 16-over, with a final round showing of 2-over.

Freshman Kyra Van Kan placed just outside the top 25, shooting 3-over in total. The Cape Town, South Africa, native recorded back-to-back 70s in the final two rounds to tie for 26th in her collegiate debut.

UT’s third-best finisher, Sophie Christopher, shot 7-over overall to tie for 47th. The freshman’s best round came in round two when she fired an even-par 71.

Leighton Shosted and Manassanan Chotikabhukkana concluded the event with a pair of 73s.

Shosted tied for 60th as Chotikabhukkana tied for 64th.
