ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Maryland men’s golf team finished sixth out of 15 teams competing in The Goat event at the Naval Academy Golf Course Sunday. Freshman Will Gregware finished tied for fifth individually and senior Florian Huerlimann tied for 12th.
In just his second collegiate event, Gregware shot a score of 213 (70-69-74) and finished even. He racked up 12 birdies in the event to earn his first top five finish. Huerlimann earned a score of 215 (71-71-73), which was +2 overall. He also made 12 birdies total and picked up his second career top 15 finish.
Sophomore Yang Kuang finished tied for 36th with a score of 223 (75-74-74), which was +10.
Sophomore Manato Nakatani earned a score of 233 (78-74-81) and freshman Benjamin Siriboury earned a score of 234 (77-78-79).
As a team, Maryland earned a score of 881 (293-288-300).
Next, the Terps will compete at the West Bay Collegiate event Oct. 6-7 in Fort Myers, Fla.
