Lohrbach, Kono Lead Huskers in Texas – University of Nebraska

Eden Lohrbach led the Nebraska women’s golf team in her collegiate debut with rounds of 77 and 75 on the opening day of the Red Raider Invitational in Lubbock, Texas, on Tuesday.

Lohrbach, a true freshman from Ames, Iowa, closed the first 36 holes on the par-72, 6,894-yard layout at The Rawls Course at 152 (+8) in a tie for 48th with teammate Hannah Kono in the individual standings. Kono, a sophomore from Enkoping, Sweden, put up back-to-back rounds of 76, as the Huskers ended the day in 12th place in the 16-team field.

Nebraska heads to Wednesday’s final round at 606 (306-300). The hosts from Texas Tech charged to the top of the team standings in the second round with a 282 (-6) to end the day at 571 (-5). The Lady Raiders own a three-shot lead over second-place UNLV at 574 (-2), while New Mexico and Brigham Young are tied for third at 578 (+2). 

Husker senior Miu Takahashi produced Nebraska’s third-best individual scores of the day with rounds of 77 and 76 to close at 153 (+9) in a tie for 55th in the 88-player field.

Sophomore Arden Louchheim struggled with an opening-round 81, but bounced back with Nebraska’s best round of the day with a 73 (+1) in the second round. She is tied for 59th at 154 (+10).

Andrea Velez completed the Husker lineup with rounds of 76 and 82 to wrap up the day in a tie for 77th at 158 (+14).

Maria Caparros Levin from New Mexico and Veronika Kedronova from Kent State sit atop the individual leaderboard at 139 (-5) heading to Wednesday’s final round. Emma Bunch (New Mexico State), Alicia Olsson (Campbell), Maja Ambroziak (Texas Tech) and Cameron Freund (Texas Tech) follow in a four-way tie for third at 141 (-3).

The Red Raider Invitational concludes with Wednesday’s final round beginning at 9 a.m. (CT). Live scoring will be available at Huskers.com from Scoreboard.clippd.com.
