The University of Missouri men’s and women’s golf teams played in the second round of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday in windy conditions, both teams finishing the day with an individual in the top-10.
Senior Ffion Tynan led the women’s team for the second-straight day, carding a two-over 74 by way of a consistent 14 pars on the day. Fleur van Beek finished just one stroke behind, posting a three-over 75 to move up eight spots.
Overall, the women’s team finished the day in eighth at +33 but is just seven shots out of fourth with Arkansas leading through two days.
Sophomore Veikka Viskari posted an even-par 72 to move up 15 spots to 10th. Virgilio Paz improved on his first-round score by four strokes, also carding an even-par 72 to move up 15 spots into 14th.
The men’s team finished day two in 8th at +26 after improving by six strokes in the second round. LSU leads after 36 holes at +6.
After two rounds the teams finished with a combined score of +59, placing seventh of 10 schools with Arkansas leading at a combined +21.
Both teams will resume play Wednesday for the third and final round.
