HOCKLEY, TX – The first official Big 12 tournament for Sun Devil Men’s Golf will go down at The Clubs at Houston Oaks next week on Oct. 7-9. Arizona State returns to Texas after last week’s tournament in Fort Worth.

PGA Tour University Rankings
Preston Summerhays is ranked No. 1 on the list of rising seniors eligible for PGA TOUR University in 2024-25. Josele Ballester is right behind him, ranked at No. 2. Both Sun Devils, alongside the entirety of NCAA golf, will compete to be ranked first at the end of the season for a chance to earn a PGA Tour card.
Course History
The Clubs is designed to accommodate all levels of ability from a tour player to a complete beginner so that every member can enjoy the course. Some of the most breathtaking visuals on the course are its fairways and greens. The Celebration Bermuda Grass fairways yield virtually no “flat lies.” As for the greens, their size and contouring are unique. TifEagle Bermuda Grass, a proven durable grass, is used so the course can accommodate a variety of higher speeds.
Last Weekend
The team finished the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational in fifth place at 11-under 851 (281-287-283) last week. Sophomore Connor Williams led the Sun Devils, finishing tied for eighth at even 210 (71-71-68) while freshman Peer Wernicke wasn’t too far behind Williams at 1-over 211 (69-71-71).
Sun Devil Medalists Under Matt Thurmond
Josele Ballester became the 11th Sun Devil (23 times) to win an individual title in a team tournament in nine seasons under Matt Thurmond (2016-present) when he won the Illini Invitational in September. He joins Preston Summerhays (4), Wenyi Ding, James Leow, David Puig (3), Cameron Sisk (2), Mason Andersen (2), Alex del Rey (2), Chun An Yu (3), Jared du Toit (2) and Ki Taek Lee.
