VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The University of Miami golf team rallied from sitting tied for 11th after the first round of the Evie Odom Invitational to finish in fourth place, securing its third top-five finish of the 2024-25 season.
The Hurricanes shot four-over-par across the final 36 holes to record a 54-hole score of 861 (+21) on the par-70, 5,824-yard course at Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, Va. Miami ascended four spots on the final day of action to finish in fourth.
Freshman Sofie Hlinomazova recorded her first collegiate top-10 finish, shooting a two-over-par score of 212 to place tied for eighth. Hlinomazova’s final score of 212 is also a new personal 54-hole best for the Hurricane.
Sophomore Barbora Bujáková and freshman Cloe Amion Villarino each finished tied for 21st with a 54-hole score of 217 (+7). Amion Villarino was the biggest mover for Miami, ascending 43 spots between the first and final rounds.
Junior Olivia Grønborg shot a 220 (+10) on the weekend to place tied for 32nd, while sophomore Aada Rissanen concluded the event tied for 62nd with a 54-hole score of 229 (+19).
Playing as an individual, junior Katie Carman tied for 51st among all players, shooting a 225 (+15) in the tournament.
College of Charleston secured the team title after shooting 847 (-11) as a squad. Furman (862; -2) and Sacramento State (872; +8) rounded out the podium at the Evie Odom Invitational.
The Hurricanes will continue action on Cot. 20-22 when they head to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in the Mercedez-Benz Intercollegiate.
