Men's Golf Finishes 14th at Fighting Irish Classic


NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Rutgers men’s golf team completed the Fighting Irish Classic hosted by Notre Dame on Monday. 

Senior captain Weston Jones was one of the team’s top performer finishing in 28th place at +7 through three rounds. Freshman Argyle Downs tied Jones with a 28th place finish and a +7 score through three rounds. Upperclassman captain Noah Kumar finished 68th with a +14 finish and freshman Bennett Espenshade finished 68th at +15. 

The Scarlet Knights as a team finished in 14th place with a +43 score. The host team of Notre Dame was the only school to finish the three rounds under par and finished in first place at -5. Sebastian Moss of Louisville finished in first place individually with a -5 score. 

Up next, the Scarlet Knights will head to the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational hosted by Michigan State on Sunday Oct. 13 in Vero Beach, Florida.
