Tournament Tidbits: Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational


Saucier, Miss. — The Wisconsin men’s golf team returns to action when it competes at the 2024 Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational, running Saturday through Monday in Biloxi, Mississippi.

THE TOURNAMENT: 

The Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational is slated to begin Saturday, Oct. 18 and run through Monday, Oct. 21, with 18 holes being played on each day. Tee times on Saturday and Sunday will begin at 8:30 a.m. (CT). The final round on Monday will begin at 7 a.m. CT.

THE FIELD: 

Teams competing along with Wisconsin include Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, LSU, Purdue, South Carolina, UNLV, and UTSA.

Wisconsin’s lineup is made up of (1) William Harned, (2) Jason Shwartz, (3) Jacob Beckman, (4) Charles Erlandson and (5) Spencer Turtz.

THE COURSE: 

Playing to a par-72, the Tom Fazio-designed Fallen Oak features five sets of tees and extends 7,480 yards from the back tees. Fallen Oak is located 15 miles north of Beau Rivage on a 510-acre tract in Biloxi, Mississippi.

LAST TIME OUT: 

Wisconsin faired well at its home Badger Invitational, finishing in a tie for second place as a team at 6-under par 281-280-297=858. Freshmen William Harned and Jason Shwartz led the Badgers, each earning top-five finishes behind career best performances. Harned finished the tournament tied for second place at 7-under par 66-68-75=209. Shwartz finished tied for fifth place at 4-under par 70-71-71=212.
