The two-day, 54-hole event on a 7,096-yard, par-72 layout at the Steelwood Country Club is hosted by the University of South Alabama.
Action begins with a shotgun start on Saturday with two rounds starting at 8:30 a.m. (CT), followed by Sunday’s final round, which is also set for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Fans can follow the live scoring at scoreboard.clippd.com.
Nebraska’s lineup in the 5-count-4 scoring format will be among a strong 14-team field in Alabama that includes 10 top-100 teams led by Big Ten counterpart No. 15 Illinois, No. 58 Clemson (ACC), No. 77 Kansas State (Big 12) and No. 86 Kentucky (SEC). No. 59 Kennesaw State, No. 69 Chattanooga, the hosts from No. 79 South Alabama, No. 82 Troy and No. 95 Rice join the No. 68 Huskers among the top-100 teams in the field.
Rudy Sautron leads the Huskers to Alabama following his second top-five finish of the year while helping Nebraska to a third-place finish in a 13-team field at the Qubein Cup (Oct. 14-15). The sophomore from Reunion Island, France, tied for third with a 213 (+3) at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. He leads the Huskers with a 71.50 stroke average over 12 rounds this season, including a win with a 208 (-5) at the season-opening Gopher Invitational in Independence, Minn. (Sept. 8-9).
Senior Hamish Murray has added three top-25 finishes while posting a 72.92 stroke average through 12 rounds. He led NU with a season-best tie for seventh with a 209 (-4) at the Git-R-Done Invitational at Firethorn in Lincoln (Sept. 23-24).
Evan McDermott has joined Sautron and Murray in the Nebraska lineup for every round this fall. The redshirt sophomore from Spring Lake, Mich., carries a 73.17 stroke average, including a season-best tie for 11th with a 211 (-2) at the Git-R-Done Invitational.
