DURHAM, N.C. – Coming off winning the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational in the last outing, the Duke women’s golf team heads towards the coast to close the fall season at the Landfall Tradition, which will be contested at the 6,178-yard, Par 72 Country Club of Landfall’s Pete Dye Course from Oct. 25-27.
Seeing action this weekend along with Duke will be Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Furman, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina (individuals), South Florida, Virginia Tech, UCF and UNC Wilmington.
Rounds one and two will begin teeing off at 8:30 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m., shotgun start for Sunday’s final round. All teams will play 18 holes each day.
Duke will feature a lineup of freshman Carla De Troia, sophomore Katie Li, senior Rylie Heflin, freshman Anna Cañado Espinal and junior Andie Smith. Blue Devil freshman Martina Yu will also make her Duke debut as an individual teeing off at 10 a.m., on hole No. 1.
The Blue Devils compete in the Landfall Tradition for the 11th time in school history. The Blue Devils have claimed the team title on four occasions (2023, 2018, 2017, 2016). Duke has turned in top-five placements in seven of the 10 appearances in the event. Three different Blue Devils have claimed the individual title – Virginia Elena Carta (2018), Gina Kim (2018) and Ana Belac (2017).
Last year, Duke carded a final round of 17-under-par, 271, to come-from-behind to win the tournament with a 21-under-par, 843. Li, Smith and Heflin all shot 2-under, 70, in the final round to help spearhead the victory for the Blue Devils.
Duke opens play Friday in the first round beginning at 10:09 a.m., off hole No. 1 along with UNC Wilmington and Clemson.
Parking and admission is free for all spectators, who are encouraged to use the Eastwood Road entrance into Landfall.
