LOS ANGELES – Coming off her third consecutive individual championship, freshman Jasmine Koo earned the No. 1 spot in the most recent Clippd Scoreboard Individual Rankings on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Koo continues to make the collegiate game look easy for her, as she has won three events in four career starts for the Women of Troy. Her three career wins include the Windy City Collegiate Classic (Oct. 1), the Stanford Intercollegiate (Oct. 20) and the East Lake Cup (Oct. 28). By winning these three events in succession, the freshman became the second USC player in program history to win three-straight events (Annie Park; 2012-13 season).
So far this season, Koo has earned several accolades for her work, as she is a two-time Big Ten Golfer of the Week, was named to the ANNIKA Award Watch List, and was named to various preseason All-American teams. The freshman has lived up to all that hype as she is first on the team in almost every category: stroke average (69.6), rounds in the 60s (six), and wins (three).
Koo has been a pivotal part of the lineup for all four tournaments as she has helped lead the Trojans to three team titles in the fall, including the Leadership and Golf Invitational (Sept. 17), the Stanford Intercollegiate (Oct. 20) and the East Lake Cup (Oct. 30). USC is ranked as the No. 4 team in the country via Clippd Scoreboard.
Koo and the rest of the Trojans return to action at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge on Sunday, Feb. 2, through Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.
