USC Women’s Golf Takes Over Palos Verdes for Spring Opener

LOS ANGELES – No. 4 USC women’s golf opens the spring season with the annual Therese Hession Regional Challenge hosted by The Ohio State University on Sunday Feb. 2 through Tuesday Feb. 4 in Palos Verdes Estates, CA at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. 
 
COMPETITIVE SLATE: #26 Florida, #49 University of Miami (Florida), #5 Texas, #39 San Jose State, #7 Arizona State, #35 Clemson, #28 UCLA, #29 Ohio State, #3 South Carolina, #4 USC, #6 Oregon, Georgetown, Cal Poly, #48 Pepperdine, #8 Arizona, #31 California

WHERE: Palos Verdes Golf Club (Par 71, 6,017 yards).
 
WHEN: The three-day event will begin Sunday, Feb. 2, at 9:00 a.m. P.T. The second round will be played Monday, Feb. 3, at 9:00 a.m. P.T., and the third round will be played Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 9:00 a.m. P.T.

Xin (Cindy) Kou
Senior Xin (Cindy) Kou heads into the first tournament in the spring semester, ranked as the No. 358 individual in the Clippd Scoreboard rankings. Kou played a pivotal part in USC’s title run at the East Lake Cup, as she was the deciding point with a 21-hole victory over UCLA in the Semifinals. She has two top-25 finishes this season and a stroke average of 73.66.  
 
Jasmine Koo
This freshman heads into the first tournament of the spring semester and is ranked as the No. 1 individual in the Clippd Scoreboard rankings. Jasmine Koo is the second Trojan in program history to claim three consecutive wins, all earned in her first semester at USC (Windy City Collegiate Classic, Stanford Intercollegiate, East Lake Cup). Her third win was earned after finishing 7-under during the East Lake Cup. Koo leads the team with a stroke average of 69.6.
 
Bailey Shoemaker
Sophomore Bailey Shoemaker heads into the first tournament of the spring semester, ranked as the No. 49 individual in the Clippd Scoreboard rankings. She has four top-25 finishes in the fall season, two of which being top-10. Shoemaker finished her last tournament at even-par and has a stroke average of 72.
