Tournament Tidbits: Badgers host the 12th Westbrook Invitational


PEORIA, Ariz. — The Wisconsin women’s golf team is hosting the 2025 Westbrook Invitational in Peoria, Ariz., running Sunday, Feb. 23 through Monday, Feb. 25. 

THE TOURNAMENT: 

Wisconsin has hosted the Westbrook Invitational every year since 2012*. The teams play in threesomes and play 36 holes on the first day and 18 holes on the second day. The tournament will begin on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. Round 2 will immediately follow round 1. The final round will be played on Monday, Feb. 24, at 8:30 a.m., also with a shotgun start. 

Last year Kansas took home first place with a team score of 277-269-275=821. The Individual winner was Wisconsin’s Chloe Chan with a score of 66-71-65=202, who will be competing again this year. 

*Tournament not played in 2021 due to COVID-19

THE FIELD: 

Teams competing along with Wisconsin include Chattanooga, Colorado State, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Penn State, Sam Houston, South Florida, UNLV, and Washington State. 

Wisconsin’s lineup is made up of (1) Chloe Chan (2) Carly Carter (3) Alexia Siehl (4) Vanessa Ho and (5) Ava Salay

The individuals will be (1) Izzi Stricker (2) Camille Kuznik (3) Kate Brody 

THE COURSE: 

The tournament will be played at the Vistas Course at the Westbrook Village Golf Club. The course is a par 72 and plays 6,248-yards. The Vistas course is situated between 83rd Ave and 91st Ave on Union Hills and was acquired by the members from the original community developers in 1994. The renowned golf course architect Ken Cavanaugh designed the course to be both thrilling and accessible for golfers of all skill levels. This classic par 72 course features a range of challenges, from desert transition areas and well-protected greens to water shots and a risk-reward drivable par 4.

LAST TIME OUT: 

The 2025 season got off to a successful start for the Wisconsin women’s golf team as it finished eighth in a talented field at the San Diego Classic. Chloe Chan and Vanessa Ho stood out during the three-round tournament, each carding a 2-over par (218) to finish in a tie for 13th place.
