Women’s Golf Season Ends At ACC Championships – Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Official Athletics Website

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Notre Dame women’s golf team ended its spring season at the ACC Championships, finishing with a three-round score of 917(+53). The women recorded a single round best of 298(+10) in the second round of the championships Wednesday afternoon before wrapping up competition on Thursday.

Freshman Bridget Wilkie led the way for the Irish, finishing in a tie for 40th overall as she competed in the first postseason tournament of her collegiate career. Wilkie opened championship play with a first round score of 76(+4) before capping the day with a team-low 71(-1) in the second round. Her round three score of 78(+6) placed her at plus-nine overall with a stroke score of 225.

Montgomery Ferreira and Faustine Errecade tied for 60th overall at the conference championships as they each posted a 54-hole total of 234(+18). Alex Lapple finished directly behind in 62nd with a score of 235(+19).

Ferreira started the tournament with a score of 76(+4) after finishing even on the front nine. An 80(+8) score in the second round set her up for the final day of her collegiate career where she hit a stroke count of 78(+6) for the 234(+18) final.

Errecade matched Ferreira’s tally in her first ACC Championships appearance. The freshman recorded a score of 150(+6) through the first two rounds, including a second round score of 74(+2) for her tournament low. Errecade rounded out the championships with a score of 84(+12) on the final day of stroke play for the 60th-place individual finish.

Finishing one-stroke shy of her teammates, Lapple’s scores of 78(+6), 78(+6), and 79(+7), respectively, placed her 62nd overall.

Maddy Bante’s score of 241(+25) rounded out the tournament. She opened the championships with a first round score of 88(+16) before concluding day one with a 75(+3) total in round two, including the team’s lone eagle of the tournament. Bante hit a two-stroke shot on the par-four 11th hole on Wednesday afternoon to cap off the day. The freshman finished her first championships appearance with a score of 78(+6) Thursday for the 241(+25) final.
