Illini Finish Third at 2025 Big Ten Women's Golf Championship

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. – Fighting Illini women’s golf ended the 2025 Big Ten Women’s Golf Championship in third place at 6-over (870) after carding a third round 292 (+4), today at Bulle Rock Golf Course.

The third-place finish marks the fourth time in the last seven conference tournaments that Illinois has finished in the top three.

Victoria Zheng ended the tournament tied for fifth at 2-under (214), her best finish of the season and her fifth top 10 of the campaign. Zheng fired a 73 (+1), posting a 2-over (38) on the front before going 1-under (35) on the back, amassing three birdies. The junior led the Illini in par 4 scoring average at 3.90 (-3), which ranked tied for third among all individuals. She also tallied 37 pars, matching Anna Ritter for the team lead, and was one of five players to record an eagle over the 54 holes of play.

Ritter finished the championship tied for 12th at 1-over (217) after posting a team-low 72 (E) in today’s round. The junior recorded a 39 (+3) on the front before turning in a 33 (-3) on the back, rolling in four birdies.

Yurang Li placed tied for 25th after her third round 73 (+1), Lexanne Halama finished tied for 29th following her third round 77 (+5) and Brielle Mapanao placed tied for 68th after a today’s round of 74 (+2).

Oregon took home the team title at 12-under (852) and the Ducks’ Kiara Romano claimed the individual crown at 7-under (209).

The Fighting Illini await a potential NCAA Regional, with the selection show set to air on Wednesday at 12 p.m. CT on Golf Channel.
