Bears Set For First ACC Championship



Cal Enters Tourney As No. 8 Seed

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The California women’s golf team competes in its first-ever ACC Championship this week at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Stroke play begins Wednesday morning and lasts three rounds, with 36 holes scheduled for Wednesday and the final 18 on Thursday. The top six teams from stroke play will advance to match play, with the top two teams advancing straight to the semifinals.

Cal is the No. 8 seed in the 15-team field and tees off Wednesday at 5:20 a.m. PT.

The Bears are coming off a strong fourth-place finish at last week’s Silverado Showdown that closed the regular season and was the team’s second-best performance of the season. Sophomore Constance Fouillet led the way with the best individual performance by a Golden Bear in over two years, tying for second place at 5-under par.

The ACC features six teams and eight individuals ranked in the top 25.
