COLLEGE PARK, MD –– Maryland women’s golf head coach Kelly Hovland welcomed transfer Surapa Janthamunee “SJ” from Mississippi State this week.

- SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll honoree (2024)
- Earned three top 10 finishes and a top 20 finish in three seasons at Mississippi State
- Appeared in 22 events for the Bulldogs
- In 2023-24, finished three rounds in the 60s throughout the campaign, with two taking place at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional
- Finished runner-up at The Ally event (2024), a career and individual program best at State’s home event.
- Placed T10 at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional, her second top-10 finish of the season.
- Set a career lowest tournament score (211, -5) at The Ally and tied it at the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional.
- Shot a 67 (-5) in the opening round of The Ally, the lowest round of her career and then seventh-best in program history.
- Shot par or better in seven of the nine rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
Hovland on SJ: “SJ will have an immediate impact on our competitiveness for the upcoming season. She has competed in the national championship finals as well as played a key role in winning an SEC championship and will bring that experience to our program to help us reach similar goals”
