Rising sophomore All-American will face Stanford’s Megha Ganne in the round of eight Friday at 5:10 p.m. (ET)
BANDON DUNES, Ore. – Rising sophomore All-American Eila Galitsky punched her ticket to the quarterfinals of the 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur on Thursday with a pair of wins in tough, windy conditions at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. The Chiang Mai, Thailand native defeated Natalie Yen 1-up with a birdie on hole 18 in the round of 16 to earn her spot in the final eight in one of amateur golf’s toughest test.
Galitsky trailed by two early to Yen but battled back winning five of the next seven holes to lead 2-up at the turn. She just missed a birdie putt to put the match away on hole 16. Yen won the 17th to pull within one, but Galitsky prevailed making a short birdie putt on hole 18.
In her round of 32 match against Pinky Chaisilprungruang earlier today, Galitsky won 3&2 and did not trail. She cruised to a 4&3 victory over Madison Murr in the round of 64 on Wednesday with an eagle at the par-4 14th hole that helped seal the victory.
Galitsky earned the No. 3 seed for match play after shooting 8-under in the 36-hole stroke play qualifying portion of the event. She shot 70 (-2) in the opening round and fired a bogey free 66 (-6) in round two.
Assistant coach Yoshio Yamamoto is serving as her caddie this week at Bandon Dunes.
Galitsky faces Stanford All-American Megha Ganne in the quarterfinals on Friday, teeing off at 5:10 p.m. (ET) with Golf Channel providing live coverage from 6 to 9 p.m. The USGA will have live scoring for the match here. The semifinals take place Saturday with the 36-hole championship match on Sunday.
