The final eliminator for the FedExCup finale to the 2025 PGA Tour regular season is being played at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland this week, and Golf Monthly is here with all the information on how to watch the BMW Championship.
Robert McIntyre leads after the first day by 3 shots. Heavy rain caused a hiatus on Thursday, and when players came back out the course had softened and eased. McIntyre took full advantage and finished with six consecutive birdies and a round of 62, eight under par.
In second is Tommy Fleetwood. Scottie Scheffler is third, a shot further behind.
Players are also jostling for a place in the Tour Championship. Viktor Hovland, currently 28th in the standings, did himself a power of good with a round a 67 to lie tied fourth with Ben Griffin and Rickie Fowler.
Fowler, currently 48th in the standings, now stands at 26th in the projected standings, inside that all-important top 30.
Jason Day, tied in 7th, was another big climber on the first day of the BMW Championship, rising 15 projected places to 29th. One of those he is tied with is Harry Hall, who climbed 14 places to 31st in the projected standings.
The BMW Championship is the second leg of the three-legged FedExCup playoffs, ahead of the TOUR Championship finale next week. The top 30 in the FedEx standings after it go through to the Tour Championship.
