Huskers Open Hall Era in Texas – University of Nebraska

The Nebraska women’s golf team begins the Breanne Hall-coaching era by opening the 2025 fall season at the Sam Golden Invitational in Corinth, Texas (Sept. 8-9).

The two-day, 54-hole event hosted by the University of North Texas on the 6,343-yard, par-72 layout of the Oakmont Country Club opens with an 8:30 a.m. (CT) shotgun start for two rounds of continuous play on Monday, Sept. 8. Following Monday’s 36 holes, the tournament concludes with the final round on Tuesday, Sept. 9 with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. (CT).

The Huskers will be the only Big Ten Conference representative in a 13-team field that includes 2025 NCAA Regional qualifiers Kansas State, Louisville and Tulsa, along with Missouri, Texas Tech, Central Arkansas, Middle Tennessee State, New Mexico State, Texas State, Tulane, UTSA and the hosts from North Texas.

Hall, a three-time Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year at Illinois State before taking over the top job at Nebraska, will bring a young lineup with her to Texas for her Husker debut.

Danica Lundgren, a sophomore out of Vandegrift High School in Austin, Texas, earned the top spot in the Nebraska lineup. Lundgren posted a 75.70 stroke average over 23 rounds as a true freshman for the Huskers a year ago.

Lundgren joins Hannah Kono as the only Huskers making the trip to Texas who have ever played a round in the Nebraska lineup. Kono, a junior from Enkoping, Sweden, will occupy the No. 5 spot in the Big Red lineup after posting a 74.93 stroke average over 30 rounds in her first season as a Husker in 2024-25.

Kaleigh Babineaux, will join Lundgren as a Husker from Austin, Texas. Babineaux, a true freshman out of Lake Travis High School, will play as an individual outside the Nebraska lineup in her collegiate debut.

The other true freshman on the Nebraska roster, Ailis Tribolet (pronounced AY-liss TRIB-oh-lay), earned a lineup spot in her college debut. Tribolet, who was recently a quarterfinalist at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship, was the No. 73 player in the nation according to Junior Golf Scoreboard in 2025 after winning the Arizona State Division III Boys Individual title at Valley Christian High School in Chandler in 2024.

Fellow Arizonan Brooke Bream will join Tribolet in the Husker lineup for the first time. Bream, a fifth-year senior from Phoenix, was Nebraska’s No. 3 qualifier for the tournament after finishing second to teammate Lauren Thiele at the Nebraska Women’s Match Play this summer. A second-year…
